Have you ever wondered what it might be like to work in another Caribbean culture?
In this study we outline the unique challenges that executives from Trinidad and Tobago faced as they arrived in Jamaica to lead newly acquired companies. We found that many were surprised by the cultural differences, and came to Jamaica with a confident attitude that was perceived by colleagues as arrogance.
All of the 30+ executives we interviewed said that they wished they had been better prepared. (The findings of the study were reinforced by another study performed a decade later: The Jamaican Professional in Trinidad.)
