You’re in planning mode…moving ahead, but want to make the retreat succeed – 2

Hi, this is Francis.

You are putting together the plans for your retreat, including some of the details. Maybe you already have a location, and have started to invite some of the attendees. As you know, there are lots of moving parts to these high-stakes events.

When they all work together well, transformational strategic plans are created which can change everything. (Ask me about some amazing things I have witnessed in retreats!)

The checklist you have requested is at the bottom of this page, to make is easy to access. (Plus, I will send you a copy via email for your records.) But here are some other questions you have and the resources we offer which may help.

How do you design the retreat?

As you plan the event, you realize you need to make a number of critical decisions. But which ones are the most important?

Does the location matter? Can family events be included in the agenda if it’s in a nice beach location? What is the maximum number of attendees? Is any preparation required? Should long hours be anticipated?

In our 2-day Final-Decision Retreats the answers are “Yes”, “No”, “19”, “5 presentations by different people”, “Yes but only on the first day, so pre-order them early dinner or snacks”.

But that’s just us, and only under ideal circumstances!

You will make similar choices due to the role you are playing as host/designer, but you may want some help in knowing which levers to pull, which ones to ignore and why. With no budget for outside consulting help, you want some assistance.

It’s the reason I put together the Blueprint for a Game-Changing 2023 Strategic Plan. It’s currently on sale for the Conference 2022 price of $25. That’s about half the full price.
